MEADOW CREEK VINEYARD

A HOME VINEYARD

Meadow Creek Vineyard is located in a deep and wide valley in the southern Ozark mountains near Fox Arkansas in zone 6b. The surface soil consists of 8 feet of alluvial clay and silt loam over clay/gravel with a PH of 6. I currently have 7 varieties of grapes growing. They are 6 French hybrids: Chambourcin, Landot Noir, Couderc Noir,Vidal, Vignoles, Chardonel and an American hybrid Cynthiana. Each vineyard row consists of 21 plants on an 8 ft spacing with rows 12 ft apart. This is estimated to produce approximately 20 gallons of each wine variety. The winery was completed in the fall of 2000. It is earth bermed on two sides and joins the house on one side.
